Lyon, France, and the Fête des Lumières (11th of December 2010) - Part III

Théâtre des Célestins

This, for me, was the pièce de résistance of the Fête des Lumières.

The theater was designed with a beautiful Italian-style facade by Gaspard André in the 19th century. Fast forward to 2010, the theme for this year's Fête des Lumières questions "Et si l’on redessinait le Théâtre des Célestins?" ("And if we redrew the Theatre Célestins?")

And so, on this night, Gaspard's theater danced...

and awoke the ghosts of past operas...

The show also paid tribute to the architectural beauty of Gaspard's work...
